BALLARDSVILLE – Opal Josephine Morris Frederick, 76, died Tuesday, April 12, 2011, at Community Hospice in Verona. She was born Oct. 29, 1934, to E.C. and Ida Grant Wilson. She worked as a seamstress in the garment industry and she was a member of Walnut Grove Baptist Church. She enjoyed quilting and gardening.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Fulton with Bro. Grover Laird and Bro. James Wilson officiating. Burial will be in the Keyes Cemetery.
Survivors include her husband, Willis Frederick, of Ballardsville; three sons, Lonnie Morris (Dorothy) of San Antonio, Texas, Lawrence Morris (Monica) and Gerald Morris (Sue), both of Fulton; two daughters, Lana Carlene Stevens (Harold) and Imogene Yielding (Edward), both of Fulton; two brothers, J. D. Wilson (Mildred) and Bro. James Wilson (Louise), both of Fulton; three sisters, Mae Evelyn Sheffield, Louise Grimes and Phyllis Pitts (Wayne), all of Fulton; 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bro. L.B. Morris; her parents; one sister, Ruth Jones; one brother, Pete Wilson; and several half brothers and half sisters.
Pallbearers will be Jason Stevens, Justin Stevens, Eric Stevens, Jim Ed Yielding, Richard Morris and Robert Morris.
Honorary pallbearers will be George Pitts, Stevie Jones, Harold Wilson, Tony Wilson and her Sunday school class from her church.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p. m. today at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society-Harrah's Hope Lodge, 718 Union Ave., Memphis, TN 38103
