MRS. JAMES M. MERWIN DEAD
Mrs. James M. Merwin, 723 Sunnyslope St., died Monday afternoon in St. Mary's Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Roberts-Blue-Barnett Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Richard G. Powell, pastor of the First Friends Church. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery.
Alta Snyder, the daughter of Edwin J. and Amanda McCosh Snyder, was born Nov. 12th, 1890, at Mount Union, Iowa. She moved with her family to Americus in 1907 and to Emporia in 1914. Mr. Merwin, whom she married Sept. 4th, 1922, died Feb. 8th, 1944. Surviving are a brother, Delbert E. Snyder, Lodi, Calif., and a sister, Mrs. C. H. Zickefoose, 727 Sunnyslope St. She was preceded in death by four brothers, James, Lester, George and Ernest Snyder. She was a member of the Cottonwood Friends Church.
