FLOYDADA (Special) - Memorial services for Vera Lucille Bennett, 78, of San Angelo will be at 5 p.m. Friday in Rio Concho Manor in San Angelo.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Trinity Church in Floydada with the Rev. Norvell Allen officiating. The Rev. Hoyle Smith, a brother, will assist.

Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Floydada under direction of Moore-Rose-White Funeral Home.

She died Monday, Jan. 12, 1998, in Methodist Hospital in San Antonio.

She was born July 22, 1919, in Perry. She attended Rosemont school, and she married Willie Bennett on Dec. 2, 1931, in Granger. They moved to Hubbard from Granger in 1939. They moved to Floydada in 1950. Her husband died July 21, 1982. She moved to San Angelo in 1982. She was a member of Ozona Baptist Church.

She was a homemaker. A daughter, Mary Davis, died in 1971.

Survivors include two sons, Walter L. of San Antonio and Ralph L. of Corpus Christi; eight daughters, Opal Allen of San Angelo, Willie Bennett of Irving, Johnnie Sandifer of Dallas, Doris Penagraph of Beaumont, Carolyn Thomas of Fort Worth, Betty Haliburton of Fort Worth, Margaret McGilvery of Fort Worth and Katherine Hines of Haywood, Calif.; two brothers, Hoyle Smith of Big Lake and Roosevelt Smith of Lubbock; two sisters, Odell Crownover and Odessa Coulson, both of Fort Worth; 32 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

The body will be at the church from 9 a.m. Saturday until services.
