She was born to Charles W. Weir and Ada Mae Mock Weir on September 21, 1915 in Muncie, IN.
Martha Jane graduated from Muncie High School in 1933 and worked as a secretary for Ball Brothers. She was responsible for typing those familiar Ball Blue Books.
She was married to L. Clyde Havens, also of Muncie, on June 21, 1936. She and Clyde, a Pan American pilot, were first stationed in Miami, FL (1943-1947), then Bogata, Columbia and Rio de Janerio, South America (1947-1952). They returned to the United States in 1952, living in Los Altos, CA, then moving to Medford, Oregon in 1971.
Martha was a world traveler, both with her husband and alone after his death in 1973 and had friends all over the world.
Her passion was tennis and she was a frequent attendee at the Annual Wimbledon Tennis Championship games held every June in England.
Martha was a warm, generous person and was loved by all who knew her.
She will be greatly missed, especially by her children, Dick Havens and Molly Beucus, both of Reno, NV; and by her grand, great-grand, and great-great-grandchildren; and her many nieces and nephews.
At her request, there will be no memorial service.
