She was born in Hazleton, Pennsylvania a daughter of Adam and Anne (Lisbinski) Marcinkevich. Sisters: Denise Ellis of Hazleton, Pennsylvania d. March 16, 2011 and Dolores M. Swift of Chicago, Illinois d. September 30, 2008. She graduated from Hazleton High School and West Chester State Teachers College in West Chester, PA. Virgil Bellringer was the choral music teacher at Westhampton Beach High School for many years and until the time of her death. She was choir director at St. Mark's Episcopal Church, Westhampton Beach, where there is a stained glass window in memory of her and her husband. She was director of the Hamptons Council of Churches Ecumenical Choir.
