Mrs. Georgia Welch, 89, of Bernice, LA, went Home to the streets of gold to receive her crown on June 5, 2006 after a lengthy illness. Services will be held at 10:00AM Thursday, June 8, 2006 at Weldon Baptist Church in Bernice, LA, with Bros. Robert Davis and Lavelle Spillers officiating. Burial will be in Weldon Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Farrar Funeral Home of Farmerville, LA. She was a homemaker, a foster parent to many precious children and a member of Weldon Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her husband of fifty-seven years, Robert Welch and two daughters, Bertha McClung and Maye Williams. Her survivors are: five sons: James Welch & wife, Trudie of El Dorado, AR; Johnny Welch & wife, Carolyn of Crossett, AR; George Welch & wife, Barbara of Farmerville, LA; Tommy Welch & wife, Jo of Bernice, LA; Todd Tiller of Bernice, LA, one daughter: Faye Ulmer of Shreveport, LA, two brothers: Ira Taylor of El Dorado, AR, and Thomas Akin of Crossett, AR, one sister: Edna Whitson of Shreveport, LA, eighteen grandchildren, twenty-six great grandchildren, ten great-great grandchildren, fifty-seven Foster children and a host of other relatives and friends Pallbearers will be John Welch, Jr., Jim Welch, David Welch, Keith McClung, Mike Ulmer, Bruce Williams, Bob Welch and Robby Welch. Visitation will be 5:00PM until 9:00PM Wednesday at Weldon Baptist Church in Bernice, LA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Weldon Cemetery Fund, 14190 Hwy Alt 2, Bernice, LA, 71222.
