After completing high school, Melvin married Clarence Lorenzo Dill. Clarence and Melvin had five children: Clarence, Jr. (deceased at birth), Ellen Renee, Jacqueline Denise, Wanda Elizabeth, and Clarence (Tony) Anthony. During the 1950's, Melvin spent most of her time raising their children. When Clarence opened his record and electronics business (Dill's Records & TV), she became the manager during hours that he was employed at Fisher Body. Melvin loved people, and made each customer feel as if they were special. Even while working at the "shop", she still managed to care for their family. From 1976 to 1986, Melvin Was employed at Montgomery Wards. While recuperating from a sudden illness, Melvin moved to Chicago to live with her daughter Ellen. In June of 1999, Melvin returned to the Detroit area. After a lengthy illness, she succumbed peacefully to death on Febuary 15,2005 with lots and lots of family members and friends beside her. Melvin leaves behind to cherish her memory, her daughters Ellen Renee Dill, Jacqueline Denise Dill, Wanda Dill-Reese;a son Clarence Anthony Dill,Nine grandkids: Jacinta Dill, Christopher Brown, Crystal Brown, Anthony Dill, Trey Dill, Taylor Dill-Reese, and Troy Dill-Reese;a great granddaughter Alexis Dill; two sisters, Vivian Jones and Bertha Reed; a host of other relatives and an abundance of friends. SHE IS DEEPLY MISSED!
