osella Schroeder, age 87, a St. Mary's Home resident since September, 1995,
died Monday morning, February 12, 1996, at the home.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:15 a.m. Wednesday, February 14, 1996, at
the Pfeffer Funeral Home and 11 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Alverno,
with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
Rosella was born July 2, 1908, at Osman, daughter of the late Daniel and Mary
White Gallagher. She was a graduate of Lincoln High School in 1925 and attended
her 75th Class Reunion in July of 1995. She graduated from Manitowoc County
Normal in 1926 and taught in various elementary schools throughout Manitowoc
County, which included St. Paul's Catholic School, Manitowoc, St. Isidore, Osman
and St. Mary's, Clarks Mills, retiring in 1973. She married Richard Schroeder
April 20, 1940, at St. Isidore Catholic Church, Osman. He preceded her in death
August 26, 1979. Mrs. Schroeder was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church,
Daughters of Isabella and Eagle's Auxiliary Aerie 706.
Survivors include two sons and one daughter-in-law, Richard and Julie Schroeder,
Robert Schroeder; one daughter and son-in-law, Mary Beth and Joseph Popp; one
daughter-in-law, Patricia Specht; one brother, Maurice Gallagher, all of
Manitowoc. Also surviving are seven grandchildren, Shari Dehne, Patrick and Daniel
Schroeder, Jacque, Joe and Jenni Popp, Jill Schroeder; four great-grandchildren,
Brent, Casey, Tyler and Devan; two special friends, Alice Duellman and Margaret
Popp and her special pets, Buffy, Barney, Callie, Annie and Henry. She was also
preceded in death by one son, Allan J. Schroeder, June 15, 1979; one brother,
Daniel Gallagher; four sisters, Zita Rohde, Agnes Buckmaster, Irene Augustine,
Inez Schnell; one brother-in-law, Lothar Schroeder; two sisters-in-law, Katherine
Gallagher and Aletha Waack.
Friends may call at the Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday
where a prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. followed by Daughters of Isabella
prayer service.
