JOHN POPP

John Popp, 77, lifelong Manitowoc County resident, died Saturday night at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc, after a lingering illness. He resided on Rt. 4, Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be conducted at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, and at 9 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Silver Lake. The Rev. D.F. Hurley will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mr. Popp was born May 10, 1877, in the Town of Cato and married Bertha Holzer in 1915. He was active in the operation of his farm until two years ago when he became ill. Mr. Popp was a member of the Holy Name Society of his parish church.

Survivors include his wife, three daughters, Mrs. William Strouf, Mrs. Merle Schwalbe and Mrs. Reuben Glaser of Manitowoc; two sons, Delmar of Manitowoc and Lloyd on the homestead farm; four brothers, Henry of Denver, Colo., George of Rt. 5, Manitowoc and William and Charles of the Town of Cato; four sisters, Mrs. Lena Franz, Mrs. Clarence Klein and Mrs. Caroline Schemenske of Manitowoc and Mrs. Joseph Leiderman of Reifs Mills; and 10 grandchildren.

Friends may call at the funeral home where the Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. by the Holy Name Society and the Daughters of Isabella.
