He was born July 18, 1924 in Glasgow, Kentucky, a son of Walter and Daisy Poynter Hope. He married Ruby Wyatt on March 16, 1951 in Springfield, Tennessee. She survives.
Survivors also include a daughter, Penny Woolwine; a son, Tobi Hope; three grandchildren and a great-grandson.
He was preceded in death by two sons, a daughter, a grandson and 10 brothers and sister.
Mr. Hope was a tank gunner for five beachhead campaigns for the Army in the South Pacific. He grew and sold produce in local farmer markets for 27 years.
He was a 32nd degree Mason and a member of Disabled American Veterans. He enjoyed the outdoors and playing euchre and was a Cubs fan.
