JENKINS, Jo B., born of Choctaw and Cherokee heritage on October 10, 1905 to Lizzie and D.E. Burnside in Bennington, Choctaw Nation, Oklahoma Indian Territory. She graduated from high school in Bennington. Shortly thereafter, the family moved to Sulphur, OK to join her father's brothers in the mercantile business. Jo attended the University of Oklahoma at Norman and was a member of Alpha Gamma Delta Social Sorority. She worked in Okla. City law offices several years prior to her marriage to Harold Davis Jenkins on March 10, 1929. The couple resided in Wichita, Kansas, Norman, and Shawnee, Oklahoma prior to permanently arriving in Oklahoma City in 1942. The union produced 3 children, Walter D., H. Davis, and Karen Jo Moore.

She and her husband were founders of All Souls Episcopal Church, and were active through the Altar Guild and Sr. Warden positions. Her major activities included, Alpha Gamma Delta, Pickwick Book Club, Oklahoma City Golf and Country Club, and in her later years a real love of duplicate bridge at the local and national level. She was blessed with 2 sisters, and 1 brother through her life as well as loving parents.

Survived by Karen Jo, Davis, and Walter Jenkins, 4 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren.

Memorial service will be 10:00 A.M. Friday, Oct. 17, 1997, at All Souls Episcopal Church. Memorials may be made to All Souls Episcopal Church.
