Dean M. Olson, 60, of Lake Park, MN, died Saturday, March 30, 2013, at his home.

Dean was born May 6, 1952 in Detroit Lakes, MN, to Ardean and Eleen (Rosman) Olson.He grew up and attended school in Lake Park, MN, graduating from Lake Park High School in 1970. He then attended Moorhead Technical College and received a degree in electronics. Both during and after High School he worked for his Dad as a heavy equipment operator. On August 4, 1973 he married Benita (Pollock) in Ulen, MN. Dean then worked for Cenex and American Crystal Sugar before settling in to his career as Director of Television Services at Concordia College in 1979. Dean worked for Concordia until his retirement in March of 2012. Dean enjoyed electronics, photography, airplanes, air shows and spending time playing with his grandchildren. His positive outlook and humor will be greatly missed.

Dean was survived by his wife Benita of Lake Park, MN; daughter, Julie (Jeff) Ueland of Bemidji, MN; two grandchildren, Marley and Simone Ueland; mother, Eleen Olson of Lake Park, MN; three brothers, Danny (Leslie) Olson of Lake Park, MN, Dale (Elizabeth) Olson of Lake Park, MN, and Darwin Olson of Lake Park, MN; sister, Diane (Dennis) Ellwanger of Moorhead, MN; Sister-in-law, Peggy Olson; uncle, Daryle "Ole" (Darlene) Olson of Detroit Lakes, MN; aunt, Eleanor (Dixi) Jacobs of Lake Park, MN; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ardean, and brother, Dennis.

Visitation: Friday, April 5, 2013, from 5:00-7:00 p.m., with a 6:30 prayer service, at Cormorant Lutheran Church, Lake Park, MN.

Funeral: Saturday, April 6, 2013, at 11:00 a.m., at Cormorant Lutheran Church, Lake Park, MN.

Interment: Cormorant Lutheran Church Cemetery.
