A native of Wilcox County, Mr. Bridges had lived in Albany for most of his life before moving to Shellman. He worked with Giles Builders Supply and retired from WALB after 27 years designing set for the station.
A former member of First Assembly of God he is a member of Damascus Baptist Church in Cuthbert. He loved to working with wood, gardening, growing vegetables and playing pranks on people. Mr. Bridges was preceded in death by his first wife Marguerite Justice Bridges.
Survivors include his wife Betty Shaw Bridges, Shellman; daughter, Gloria Byars (David); son, Roger D. Bridges (Dee), Leesburg; step son Phillip Shaw (Susie), Cuthbert; step daughter, Cindy Campbell (Thomas), Albany; grandchildren, Terri Freeman (Brett), Leesburg, Paul Byars, Albany, Shanda Miller (James), Leesburg, Roger Bridges, Jr. (Kelly), Leesburg, Kristi Bridges, Leesburg; 12 great grandchildren, 4 step grandchildren and 4 step great grandchildren.
