He found the love of his life, Betty Austin, in Springfield, MO, at the Malt Shop on Glenstone. They were united in Holy Matrimony on June 8, 1957. To this marriage was born Tammie A. May, Timmy F. Collins, and Ronald J. Collins.
Orie's trade was a beef boner (butcher). Some say he was the best around. He was employed at several businesses throughout the years: M.F.A., LeDuc, Welch, Cloud, Fair Grove, and Wyatt; all meat packing businesses.
He loved to trade with people all through his life and was darn good at it.
He is survived by his wife, Betty A. Collins of Strafford, MO; daughter, Tammie May and her husband, Jim May, of Fair Play, MO; son, Tim Collins and his wife, Carrie, and their three children, Jimmy, Lacey, and Briana, all of Aldrich, MO; son, Ron Collins and his wife, Beth, and their four sons, Jesse, Nick, Curtis, and Cory Collins, of Brookline, MO; and brothers, Johnny Collins of Strafford, MO; and George Collins of Springfield, MO.
Visitation will be April 25, 2005, in Greenlawn Funeral Home North. Services will be April 26, 2005, with burial in Eastlawn Cemetery.
