Martha Jane (Weaver) Combs passed away April 9, 2013 at St. Vincent's Hospital, Portland from lung disease. She is survived by her son Mark Blackburn (Pam Brown) of Saipan, Northern Mariana's Island; daughter Corinne Loprinzi (David), son James Blackburn, both of Tigard OR; and daughter Elaine Cozart (Steven) of Bellevue, Washington. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Mark's children Chelsea Phillips (Nathan) and Brian Blackburn; Elaine's children Mackenzie and Zachary Cozart. She also had two great-grandchildren, Chelsea's children, Amelia and Beatrix. Other surviving family members are her sister Pat Dorr (Cliff) of Lake Oswego; nieces, cousins, and extended family.

She was a professional career woman and in the 60s worked for Tualatin Development Company and was an integral part of the planning, development, and overseeing construction of the adult 55+ community of King City, Oregon. In 1975 she moved to Michigan where she was a homemaker and real estate agent. She returned to Tigard and worked for the Multnomah County Public Defender's Office until her disability retirement in 1990 when, as a pedestrian, she was struck by an automobile. After this accident she overcame what others would say were insurmountable odds. Because she subscribed to the philosophy, "If you think you can, you're right", she not only survived, but thrived.

Martha was also a gifted, intelligent woman. She loved literature, music, poetry, sewing, knitting, quilting, playing cards and bingo, and making greeting cards, to name a few of her passions.
