Roger Massey
(February 15, 1936 - April 12, 2013)

Roger Massey was born on February 15, 1936 to Robert and Dorothy Massey. He passed peacefully at Bright Kavanagh House on April 12, 2013 at the age of 77.

Roger graduated in 1956 from The Iowa School for the Deaf in Council Bluffs, IA. He participated in Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Wrestling, Track and Football. During his time there he made many life long friends.

Roger enjoyed reading, making friends with anyone who took the time to chat, and researching subjects of interest. One area of interest was learning about his family history. It was during this research he learned he had roots in the historical town of Buxton, IA, a coal mining town that flourished in Monroe County in the early 1900's.

Roger leaves behind his brother, Jackson Massey; several nieces, nephews and many friends who will miss him deeply.

Memorial Services for Roger will be at 4:30 p.m., Wednesday, April 17 at Brooks South Town Chapel at Sunset Memorial Gardens, 7601 Fleur Drive, Des Moines.

Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Central Iowa.
