HER HUSBAND'S OBITUARY: Kim Homer Peterson, 47, of Spanish Fork, Utah, passed away on Friday, June 13, 2003 from injuries suffered in an airplane accident.

He was born on June 26, 1955 in Rigby, Idaho, the son of George Stephen and Theda Staker Peterson.

He married Barbara Lynn Bown on May 15, 1981 in the Provo LDS Temple.

Kim was educated in Spanish Fork schools and graduated from Spanish Fork High School. He attended Ricks College in Rexburg, Idaho, and Brigham Young University, graduating in accounting. He served an LDS Mission to the Denmark Copenhagen Mission. He was very active in the community, serving on the Spanish Fork City Council, as President of the Chamber of Commerce, as president of the Jaycees, and as Fiesta Days Chairman, as well as in other civic capacities. He is the owner of Peterson Black and Associates, a CPA firm in Spanish Fork. He conducted audits for various cities, counties and businesses throughout Utah. He was an active member of the LDS Church and served as high councilman, in the bishopric, and various other capacities, with his most recent calling being Young Men's president in his ward, where he had a special interest in the youth. The love of his life was his family and being with his children. He always shared his other joys with them: flying, horseback riding, the outdoors, hunting, fishing and "jeeping." A deep and abiding testimony of the Savior and service to others were the hallmarks of his life.

Kim is survived by his wife of Spanish Fork; five sons and one daughter, Cameron James, Jordan Shawn, Taylor Cole Armando, Parker Ryan, Isaiah Desmond Cooper, Ashlyn Presleigh Peterson, all of Spanish Fork; his mother, Theda of Spanish Fork; three brothers and three sisters, Shannon (Kerry) Openshaw, Spanish Fork, Stephen (Phyllis) Peterson, Salem, Trudy (Noel) Cook, Pleasant Grove, Kelly (Sherri) Peterson, Spanish Fork, Rick (Camille) Peterson, Draper, Scott (Bonnie) Peterson, Spanish Fork, and Melanie Peterson, Spanish Fork.

He was preceded in death by his father, George, who died in the accident with him. Services were held Wednesday, June 18, 2003 at in the Palmyra LDS Stake Center Chapel, 905 E. 900 N., Spanish Fork. Interment, Spanish Fork City Cemetery. [Deseret News, Sunday, June 15, 2003.]
