Anna Mary Messerly, 87, of York, died at 8:20p.m., Friday, at Manor Care Health Services Kingston Court, in York. She was the wife of the late Mervin Henry Messerly.
A graveside service will be 11a.m., Tuesday, at St. Peter's (Lischey's) Union Cemetery, in Spring Grove. A memorial service will be 7p.m., Monday, at the Heffner Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York. Visitation will be 6 to 7p.m., Monday, at the funeral home.
Mrs. Messerly was born April 26, 1912, in Menges Mills. She was the daughter of the late Albert Franklin and Etta Blanche (Harris) Senft.
She was a winder for the former Blue Bird Silk Mill, in York, for 10 years. She was a former member of and attended Shiloh Lutheran Church. She also volunteered at American Cancer Society and American Heart Association.
Mrs. Messerly is survived by three sons, Gary A. Messerly, of Grand Prarie, Texas; Dale H. Messerly, of Red Lion; and Dean M. Messerly, of Jacob's; two daughters, Jane Spangler and June Mary Messerly, both of York; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a sister, E. Mary Stough, of York New Salem.
Officiating at the service will be the Rev. Helen Pinder. Memorial contributions may be made to Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, RD 1, Box 399, Thomasville 17364.
