He was the widower of Margaret "Peg" Gatlin Minyard (married 52 years) who died in 2002. He was survived by his son, Thomas Keith Minyard; a daughter, Nancy J. Bingham; four grandchildren, Katie Fout, Jessica Bingham, Margaret Bingham and Kyle Bingham; sister, Elsie M. Steele; sister-in-law, Barbara G. Anthony; son-in-law, Gary Bingham; daughter-in-law, Mary Minyard; and an extended family of relatives and friends. He was a veteran of the United States Army. He was very active with Central Christian Church of Orlando, FL, where he served for many years as a beloved elder. A memorial service was held on April 19, 2013, at Ivanhoe Chapel of Baldwin-Fairchild Funeral Home in Orlando, FL, with The Rev. Thomas A. "Tuck" Norvell, Jr., and The Rev. Dr. James D. Bailiff officiating. Solo of "Amazing Grace" by Jo Ellen Jarman.
