She was born November 25, 1921 in Charleston to Jessie Cone and Ollie Casey Cone.
She grew up on her family farm where she picked cotton; she loved to travel; she was a member of the Church of Christ and a retired public school teacher at El Paso, Pine Bluff, Tulsa and Sunnymede School .
She was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years D.A. Carroll.
Service will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 16, 2013 at Smith Mortuary Chapel with interment at Arbuckle Cemetery, N.E. of Lavaca under the direction of Smith Mortuary of Charleston.
She is survived by one cousin, three nephews Rodney Cone of Ft. Wayne, Indiana and Bob & Scott Cone both of Ft. Smith; one niece Karen Jackson of Lavaca.
