Last Sunday morning about 2:00 at the home of his brother J A Abraham in Franconia, Aaron Abraham, youngest son of Chas and Beatrice Abraham, spent his last breath so peacefully and quietly that those near and dear to him, who lingered at his bedside cold not discern any visible signs of pain. He died from heart failure and according to his physicians; he could not have lived but a short time at all events, as he was suffering from consumption.
Aaron Abraham was born in Franconia, July 13, 1868 where he spent his childhood days. As attended the public schools. He was of a studious mind and continued his studies later on, attending the State Normal school at Winona and at Valparaiso, Ind. He afterwards taught several year terms of school in Dist. No 7 and also Dist No 14.
Believing that there were better opportunities farther west, he left for South Dakota, where he for a time worked as a clerk in his brother's store at Claremont. He remained there, however a comparatively short time and move on to Thief River Falls, Minn where he took a homestead and afterwards engaged in the general merchandise business, which he has been conducting during the past seven years. His wife died about a year ago leaving home alone with three young children, one girl and two boys.
About two weeks ago the condition of his health became so serious that his brother Jacob Abraham of Franconia went up to Thief River Falls and brought him down here, thinking that the changes would be beneficial to him. But his days were numbered and kind and tender hands though eagerly attended, were helpless.
Mr. Abraham prior to leaving this community was a member of the Chisago Lake Lutheran Church which he was baptized and confirmed. HE was a member of the Woodsman Lodge of Claremont and in Thief River Falls; he was highly respected by all that knew him.
He leaves three children, aged parents and brothers and sisters who mourn in hi a tenderhearted father, a good and a loyal brother.
The funeral services were held from the Swedish Lutheran Church yesterday afternoon.
Rev F M Eckman officiating. Among the relatives who attended the funeral were Alfred Abraham of Claremont, SD, a sister, Mrs Mary Linder of Langford, SD and a number of relatives from Marine Mills.
His father, brothers, sisters and children desire through this column of the Press to thank all who have extended them their help and sympathy during this their bereavement.
The interment took place at the Center City Cemetery.
