Born December 23, 1919 in Livingston, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late John C. and Winnie (Pondy) Kelley and was a 1939 graduate of Livingston High School. Ruth was the owner and operator of Fritts' Beauty Shop on Main Street in Trinway, Ohio where she resided for many years. She was a member of the Trinway United Methodist Church. Mrs. Fritts-Ping was an avid league bowler in Coshocton and Zanesville, as well as in Mt. Vernon, Illinois during the 1970's.
Surviving are a daughter, Martha (Richard) Prince of Trinway; two grandsons, Douglas Prince of Trinway and Mark Prince of Dresden; four great grandchildren, Stacey, Kylie, Katie and Sydney Prince, as well as many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, Richard M. "Dick" Fritts, whom she married February 7, 1942 and who died March 21, 1992; her second husband, Edward Ping, whom she married in August, 1992 and who died January, 2006; five brothers and five sisters.
Calling hours will be 5 to 8pm Sunday, April 14, 2013 at the Dresden Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 714 Main Street.
Funeral services will be 11:00am Monday, April 15, 2013 at the funeral home with the Rev. Sharon Williamson officiating. Burial will be in Dresden Cemetery.
