Willie C. Wells, 89, Bartlett, Ill., formerly of Hopkinsville, died Friday, May 6, 2011, at his home following a brief illness.
A memorial service will be from 3 until 7 p.m. Friday at Fruit Hill Baptist Church.
The body has been cremated.
Country Side Funeral Home, Bartlett, is in charge of arrangements.
A native of Christian County, he was born March 4, 1922, the son of the late Boss Franklin and Carrie Lear Wells.
He was a retired candy maker with the Brach's Co. and was a former member of Fruit Hill Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Alline Shelton Wells; two daughters, Carolyn Wells Ackerman, North Aurora, Ill., Joyce Wells Baldridge, Bartlett; a brother, Owen Wells, Hopkinsville; a sister, Louise Wells Henderson, Hopkinsville; four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
