(1916 - 2005)

Bernard J. Scharenbroch, 88, died April 14, 2005, in Lebanon, Pa.

He was born Oct. 8, 1916, in the Town of Meeme, son of the late William and Mary (Miller) Scharenbroch.

Bernard served in the U.S. Army during WW II. On Sept. 14, 1940, he married the former Colette Merget. For many years he was employed by the Cleaver Brooks Boiler Co. of Lebanon, Pa. as the Inventory Manager and also ran the parts department. Bernard was a very active member of many organizations in the Lebanon, Pa., area.

He is survived by his wife, Colette; a son, Donald (Peggy) Scharenbroch of Detroit, Mich.; a daughter, Karen Elia of Lebanon, Pa.; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He is further survived by six brothers, Herbert (Bernice) of Kiel, Al (Agnes) of Manitowoc, Simon, Francis (Ruth), Anthony and Raymond (Caroline) Scharenbroch, all of Kiel; two sisters, Betty Mae (Terry) Owens of Chilton and Bernice (Eugene) Schnell of Kiel; a sister-in-law, Violet Scharenbroch of Sheboygan Falls.

He was preceded in death by a grandson, Jeffery Scharenbroch; a granddaughter, Kim Scharenbroch-Mendoza; a brother, William; and a sister, Dorothy Schad. Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 19, 2005 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in School Hill with the Rev. Gregory Coulthard officiating. Burial in the Parish Cemetery. Friends may call at the CHURCH on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of service.

Meiselwitz-Vollstedt Funeral Home of Kiel is assisting the family.
