----------
Darius Crosby died at his home in Sugar Creek township at seven a.m. Tuesday, October 13, of paralysis, age eighty years. Mr. Crosby was born in [Mason County] Kentucky in 1816, came to Indiana in 1837 and settled in Sugar Creek township, Shelby county.
He was married to Catherine Swango in 1843. To them were born ten children, seven sons and three daughters, all of whom are living.
He was a kind husband and an affectionate father; a good neighbor, always ready and willing to help his neighbors in sickness or distress. While he leaves a wife, children, friends and neighbors to mourn his loss it can be truly said he leaves no enemies.
Funeral services will be held at the Center M. E. Church at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, October 15. The cortege will leave the house at 9:30 a.m. in charge of Edwards & Hageman.
