ALFRED – Yvette M. Howard, 77, of Alfred, a longtime resident of Acton, died Thursday at the Greenwood Center in Sanford.

She was born in Sanford on May 2, 1925, a daughter of Arthur and Eva (Laurendeau) Berthiaume, and attended the former St. Ignatius School.

She lived in Brookline, MA for several years, and worked for the National Research Corp. in Newton, Ma, retiring some years ago.

She and her husband, Francis Howard, maintained a home on Square Pond in Acton for over 30 years and moved to Alfred a year ago.

She was a communicant of Notre Dame Church in Springvale.

Besides her husband, she is survived by three sisters, Doris Mathieu, Annette Fuessel, and Lorraine St. Jean, all of Sanford.
