Carol L. Reece, 76, of Horton, Kansas, passed away on Tuesday, April 9, 2013 at the Horton Community Hospital. She was born on February 7, 1937 in Horton, Kansas the daughter of William (Bill) and Florence Baker Fulk. She graduated from Horton High School in 1955 and attended Kansas State College in Manhattan. Carol married Dale Harvey Reece on June 3, 1956 at the United Methodist Church in Horton, Kansas. A homemaker and active in church and community, Carol was a member of the Horton Hospital Auxiliary, Brown County Extension Board, and 4-H Leader and secretary for the United Methodist Women, Topeka District UMW team for 7 years, UMC delegate to Kansas East Conference for 6 years, Chancel and Bell Choir member for many years, and Women's Christian Temperance Union State Education Officer for 10 years. Member of our gang and Classy Ladies. Survivors include a daughter, Sheri Lee and Chuck Oswald of Horton, Kansas; son, Michael D. and Corby Reece of Topeka, Kansas; sister, Phyllis Phiffer of Springfield, Missouri; two grandchildren, Brian C. Oswald of Claremont, California and Amber and Charles Cofield of Leon, Kansas; two step grandchildren, William Ankenbauer III of Lawrence, Kansas and Brian Ankenbauer of Leander, Texas; three great grandsons, Connor, Landon and Efram Cofield. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother at birth, William Fulk, husband, Dale Reece and a special friend, Roger Oswald. Funeral services will be at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, April 13, 2013 at the Horton United Methodist Church with burial at the Horton Cemetery.
