Margaret Brown was the daughter of Rev. George Brown and the former Miss Margaret Brady. Born in Rockbridge County, Virginia; Margaret married John Wilkinson, a veteran of the Revolution who served in the Virginia Militia, on November 17th 1801.
Margaret and John Wilkinson moved to Tennessee around 1807; where he was a pioneer lawyer and surveyor. Later becoming a member of the Tennessee Assembly and State Attorney General. They had the following known children:
Amanda Lavinia {m. R. Cates}(1800-1867)
Dr. John (1806-1886)
Joseph Brady (1813-1888)
Edward Scott (1821-1895)
After John died in 1829, Margaret married Capt. Robert Wear, a widower, on the 14th of April 1831. There were no known children born to this union. Robert Wear was a veteran of the War of 1812 and had settled in the area around Loudon County, Tennessee.
