Peter Andrew Gaul, Son of Paul and Lucy Gaul, after an illness of 2 years, passed away at the Wesley Hospital, Wadena, MN, on Monday, February 26, 1945 at the age of 57 years 11 months and 16 days. He was born in Luxembourg on March 14, 1887, coming to this country when a small boy with his parents, they settled in northern Iowa.

In 1911 he was married to Katrina Schartz, who died in 1913. To them was born, Paul of Menagha and Nick of St. Paul.

In October 1913, he with his parents, moved to a farm south of Wadena, MN. In 1914 he married Gertrude Schmitz and to this union were born; Mrs. Rosa (George) Payne, Sebeka, S/Sgt. Peter Gaul in the Phillipine Islands, Theresa at home, Mrs. Lucille (Norman) Painter, Sebeka, PFC Andrew in a hospital in England, Helen of St. Paul, Catherine of Menagha, Mary of McMinnville, Ore., Margaret and Susan at home.

He is survived by his children, 5 grandchildren, 2 brothers, 2 sisters and a host of other relatives.

Funeral services were held at St Fredricks church in Verndale MN., on Thursday, March 1, 1945, Reverend
Van Zutphen officiated, The body was then taken to Iona, MN for burial, Friday, March 2, 1945.

Pallbearers were 6 brother-in-laws; Peter Mertes, William Schmitz, Paul Schmitz, Nick Schmitz, Tony Schmitz and Hilarius Schmitz.
