After being bullied on Social Media and at School, Audrie took her own life by hanging herself in her bathroom shower at home. Her mom, Sheila Pott. The boys charged with taking the pictures and sexual assault, but were convicted under the juvenile system and sentenced to only 45 days in a Juvenile Detention Facility, after which they were allowed to continue attending the same school and the convictions and case remain sealed.

She was a student at Saratoga High School, and very involved with student activities. She was a victim of bullying.

There is an episode of “Web of Lies” on Investigation Discovery (ID) channel, “With Friends Like These” (2018) documenting her life and final days. “Fifteen year old Audrie Pott has no recollection of what happened at a friend’s house party. But when lewd photos of her are shared through text message, her world turns upside down and public shaming pushes her to the edge.”
