Visitaion will be held from 4-8 p.m.on Wednesday, Dec 20, 2000 at Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home in Estherville.
He was born on June 19, 1928 in Whittemore, the son of Claude and Clara (Bleckwenn) Wright. He began his education in the country schools in Vernon Township northeast of Emmetsburg. In 1941, the family moved to a farm northeast of Estherville. He completed nhis education in the country schools in rural Emmet County. After finishing school, he began farming with his father. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War from April of 1951 through August of 1953. After his discharge from military service, he returned home and began farming again. He also drove truck for many years for various trucking companies. He retired from farming in 1991. He enjoyed helping others in whatever their needs were. He was also a lifetime member of VFW Post 3388 in Estherville.
He is survived by two sisters, Beverly of Estherville and Dorothy Hanrahan of Des Moines; three brothers, Donald, Melvin and his wife, Darlyne and Norman and his wife, Lavonne, of Estherville and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
