Emma M. Rodgers YORK Emma M. Rodgers, 91, died Thursday, June 17, 2004. She was the wife of the late Eugene E. Rodgers. Mrs. Rodgers had worked at the York Day Nursery and had operated her own day care. She retired from Danskin. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church of York and the former Messiah Lutheran Church. Born May 10, 1913 in York. Daughter of the late Harvey and Julia Ann (Weaver) Knokey. She is survived a daughter, Elizabethann Border of Glen Rock; four sons, Eugene E. Rodgers Jr. of Louisville, KY, Arthur J. Rodgers, Richard A. Rodgers, Ronald L. Rodgers and Stephen F. Rodgers, all of York; 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and a brother, Albert Knokey of York. There will be no viewing. Following cremation, a Memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Grace Lutheran Church of York, 150 Jefferson Ave., with the Rev. Deborah Volker officiating. Burial will be private in Prospect Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Messiah Mission Fund c/o Grace Lutheran Church, 150 Jefferson Ave., York, PA 17404. John W. Keffer Funeral Home, Inc., 902 Mt. Rose Ave., is in charge of arrangements.
