Services were held Monday at St. Louis Catholic Church for Michael Van Dunn, 18, who was killed early Saturday when the car he was driving left 1 240 and was submerged in Nonconnah Creek.
Dunn, of 2821 Hunters Horn South, was currently a student at Messick High School and formerly attended Germantown High School.
He is survived by his father, Donald "Duck" Dunn, a bass player formerly with Booker T and the MGs and now with Eric Clapton; his mother, June Dunn; a , brother, Jeff Dunn; and his grandmother, Mrs. Jim Dunn. Dunn was a member of the musical group Blacklist, which had been together about a year and was getting ready to record.
The other members of the group, which includes his brother, Jeff, Chuck Harris, Hal McCormick and Jeff Gaither, will play Thursday night at the Collierville High School Auditorium to honor Dunn.

Services Slated For Car Victim
Mass will be said at 10 a.m. tomorrow at St Louis Catholic Church for Michael Van Dunn who died at 1:17 a.m. yesterday, two hours after the car he was driving ran off Interstate 240 west of Getwell and plunged into a water filled ditch.
Dunn, 18, of 2821 Hunters Horn South in Germantown was the son of Donald "Duck" Dunn a bass player with the Eric Clapton Band and one of the original members of the rock group Booker T and the MGs.
The younger Dunn had attended Germantown High School and planned to graduate this spring from Messick High School.
Memorial Park Funeral Home has charge.
Besides his father, he leaves his mother Mrs. June Dunn, a brother, Jeffrey Dunn and his grandmother, Mrs. Jim Dunn, all of Memphis.
