Maurice Edsel Williamson, of Vassar, died Thursday, March 14, 2013, at the age of 67. Maurice was born Nov. 18, 1945, in Port Huron, the son of Joy and Bonnell (Enfield) Williamson. He and Elaine Volmering were united in marriage Aug. 26, 1972. Maurice proudly served as a CW04 in the U.S. Navy for 28 years before receiving his honorable discharge in 1992. He worked for Vassar Public Schools for 25 years before retiring in 1997. Maurice was an avid University of Michigan fan; he enjoyed watching sports, collecting coins and playing cards. Left to cherish his memory are his wife; two children, Scott and wife Jennifer Williamson and Korina Williamson; two granddaughters, Morgan and Haley Williamson; siblings, Andrew and wife Bernedette Williamson and sister, LaLonnie and husband, Bernard Chope. Maurice was preceded in death by his parents.
