Jean F. Lowery, 88, of Warrensburg, passed away Tuesday, April 9, 2013, at Western Missouri Medical Center.
She was born Aug. 27, 1924, in Warrensburg, the daughter of Howard E. and Viola Mae (Taylor) Smith.
Jean graduated from Warrensburg College High School in 1941.
She worked at Unifemme and then Unitog as a seamstress retiring in 1989. She loved to sew, read, work crossword puzzles, and her family.
Jean attended Harmony Baptist Church in Leeton, Mo.
Jean is survived by four daughters, Donna J. Lowery-Thomas and husband William of Knob Noster; Diana L. Little of Fairview Heights, Ill.; Debra A. McBee and husband David, and Delora A. Lowery, all of Warrensburg; one son, Larry R. Lowery and wife Pam of Lilburn, Ga.; two brothers, Gordon Smith of Warrensburg and Max Smith and wife Virginia of California; 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Doris E. Stone; one brother, Howard E. Smith Jr.; and two grandsons in infancy, Daryl and Donald McCurry.
A funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Friday, April 12, 2013, at Sweeney-Phillips & Holdren Funeral Home in Warrensburg.
Interment will follow at Sunset Hill Cemetery.
