William was the son of James Beasley (1794-1854) & Edna "Evey" (Edna given name found on 1880 Census living with dau. Nancy C. Beasley Wilson & family)(b. 1797 in NC). William married Mary Deatherage on 5 Apr 1846 in Morgan Co., IL. Their children were: Julia Ellen(1846), Richard C. & Plina E. twins (1847), Martha Ann (1848), W.M. & Franklin twins (1849), Jane (1850), Sarah E. (1851), & James C. (bef. 1854).
William's 2nd marriage was with Mary Jane Morton. They married on 18 Feb 1856 in Morgan Co., IL. Their children were: James "John" Buchanan (1856), Wm. Andrew & Louisa twins (1860), & Martin Luther (1864).
