Marie enjoyed quilting and made about a hundred quilts and gave them to her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed traveling with tour groups. In October of 2004, at the age of 81, Marie decided she should move to be near one of her daughters because of her health was failing. She chose to move to Parkview Manor in Wellington which was two blocks from her daughter Linda and Tommy Powell. She was very happy at her new home.

Marie was an active member of First Baptist Church in Seymour and a member of the Friendship Sunday School Class. After moving to Wellington she attended First Christian Church with Linda and Tommy as long as she was able.

Marie was preceded in death by her parents; a brother Turner Praytor; 3 half brothers Roy Praytor, Bill Praytor, and E.L. Allison; and several nephews.
