Mrs. McMeen Passes Away
Wife of Prominent Merchant to be Buried on Monday
Mrs. Sara McMeen, wife of Elmer E. McMeen, Woods Lane, died at her home Thursday morning at 4:20 o'clock after a prolonged illness. She was aged 70 years, 8 months, 9 days, having been born March 19, 1865 in Juniata Township, Perry County, the daughter Daniel and Sara (Albert) Lesh.
She is survived by her husband and one son, A. Ralph McMeen, of Ridgewood and five grandchildren: Elmer 2nd; Sara, Albert, Jane and Hugh; also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. S.P. Erisman and Mrs. Hugh B. McMeen, both of Lewistown.
Mrs. McMeen was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and was faithful in all her religious duties while her health permitted. She was also a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
Funeral services will be held Monday morning at 10 o'clock at her late home in charge of Rev. Dr. Henry A. Riddle assisted by Rev. James Martin of Mifflintown and Rev. James C. McConnell of Philadelphia. Interment will be in the Presbyterian Cemetery, Mifflintown.
