Pine Bluff, Ark., Feb 20. - Colonel "Bob" Crockett, age 70, died at Stuttgart, Ark., Tuesday. Deceased was one of the best known citizens in the south. He was a grandson of famous Davy Crockett, and preserved many characteristics and attributes which served to make famous his distinguished grandsire. For many years Colonel Crockett has been prominent in the Democratic party in Arkansas, and his ability as a stump speaker was recognized as being unsurpassed. During the Cuban insurrection in the '70's he served valiantly among the insurrectionists, and won meritorious recognition. As a raconteur he easily won first place in any circle of which he was a member, and with his death the last famous Crockett passes into history. J. W. Crockett, son of deceased, is at present Arkansas' secretary of state. A large number of other relatives in Arkansas and Tennessee survive.
