Clara Olive Dover West, 97, passed away on Sunday, April 7, 2013 at McKay Dee Hospital.
Olive was born on November 7, 1915 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Charles and Clara Brown Dover. She grew up in Salt Lake City and graduated from East High School.
She earned her Nursing Degree from the University of Utah. She worked at LDS Hospital and the original Dee Hospital.
Olive married Dr. Warren B. West in Salt Lake City on April 17, 1938 in Sedalia, MO. He passed away on August 25, 1984.
She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in various callings.
Olive was a member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers and Rotary Anns.
She loved working in her flower garden and traveling with her sister Pearl. At home, Olive loved crocheting, knitting, making doll clothes and collecting antique dolls and elephants of all sizes.
Olive is survived by her sons, W. Pat (Barbara) West, Nashville, TN; Richard (Nedy) West, Austin TX; daughter, Sandra Thompson, Ogden, UT; and daughters-in-law, Linda West, Ogden, UT and Margaret West, Ontario, Canada; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, three sons, George, Roger and Gerald; parents, sister, Pearl Collett; and brother, Victor Dover.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 12, 2013 at 2 p.m. at Lindquist's Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with family on Friday from 12:45 to 1:45 p.m. at the mortuary.
Interment, Ogden City Cemetery.
