Joe Fred Darnell, the son of Jim Darnell and Dessie Douglas Darnell, was born November 23, 1921 at Yuma, Tenn. He died August 2, 1986 at Blytheville, Ark., at the age of 54. On June 6, 1957, he was married to Madie Nadene Sumners at Hernando, Miss.

He leaves his wife, Madie Nadene Darnell, and a son, Joseph Keith Darnell, both of Steele; two daughters: Kathy Goodwin of Plainfield, Ill., and Karen Brown of Haughton, La.; his mother, Dessie Darnell and his father, Jim Darnell, both of Steele; two brothers, Kenneth Darnell and Bobby Darnell, both of Steele; and two grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Wendell Hoskins, Gene Hager, Bud Ashcraft, Pinky Ashcraft, Carroll Lorren and Buddy Still.

Services were from German-Aumon Funeral Home August 4, 1986 at 2:00 p.m. Rev. Billy Skinner officiated.

Burial was at Mount Zion Cemetery, German-Aumon Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
