Carlos E Strong was born Jan 12,1928 in Owsley Co & departed this life Tuesday, Mar 25,2008 at St Joseph Hosp. in London, Ky, being 80 years of age. He was the son of the late Willie & Liza (Bowles) Strong. Carlos is survived by his wife - Virginia (Brooks)Strong of Tyner & by the following children - Eddie Strong of Middletown, Oh, Robert Strong of Berea, Ky, Gary Strong of West Alexandria, Oh, Jimmy Strong of Gratis, Oh, David Laschitz of Miamisburg, Oh, Linda Sutters of Mt Sterling, Ky, & Cindy Asbury of Lebanon, Oh. He is also survived by two brothers - Willie Strong Jr of Goshen, Oh & Marvin Strong of Richmond, Ky,& two sisters - Joyce Roberts & Lonnie Wright, both of Norwood, Oh. He was blessed with 28 grandchildren & 23 great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Carlos was also preceded in death by one daughter - Carlotta Cathers & a brother - Conley Strong. Carlos was a veteran of the US Army serving in World War II. He was also a member of the Union Baptist Church. Funeral service was held 2:00 PM Sat, Mar 29, 2008 at Lakes Funeral Home with Bro. Bobby Burchette officiating. Burial followed in the Strong Cemetery in Owsley Co. Lakes Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
