Rosie Ellen Reed, 95 of Silsbee, went home to be with her Lord on April 9, 2013 at the Silsbee Convalescent Center.
Funeral services for Rosie will be 2:00pm Friday at Farmer Funeral Home with interment following in R.S. Farmer Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 5pm-7pm at the funeral home.

Rosie was born on December 21, 1917 in Belton, Texas to Marion and Adeline Sparks.

She was a long time member of First Baptist Church, Silsbee, where during that time she has served as W.M.U. Director (she had a heart passion for missions), and volunteered in the nursery.

Rosie loved sewing, reading, working in her flower beds and especially spending time with her grandchildren. Her children and grandchildrens fondest memories of her were waking in the morning and finding her sitting at the kitchen table reading her Bible. She loved her Lord and loved spending time in His Word.

She is survived by a daughter Bonnie Ruth Reed Walters and a son James Hairl Reed many grandchildren,great grandchildren and great great children.

She is preceded in death by daughter Beatrice Reed, her parents, her brothers Marion, William and Robert Sparks and two sisters, Dorothy Turner and Freddie Barclay.
