Chief Machinery Technician Burleigh Chandler graduated from Jonesport High School in 1960 and shortly after joined the U. S. Coast Guard. During his career he served at the following, CGC Casco - Boston, Station Beals Island - Maine, Light Station Little River - Maine, Light Station Petit Manan - Maine, Light Station Beal Island - Maine, CGC Chase - Boston, CGC Confidence - Kodiak, AK, Station Kodiak, Loran Station Saint Paul, Saint Paul Island, AK, Light Station Nantucket - Boston, Station Scituate - MA, and finally CGC White Lupine - Rockland. Burleigh served in Vietnam onboard the CGC Chase. He was awarded numerous awards and medals for his distinguished 20 years of service to his Country. His wife and 3 children are living, and shall not be named. He married his high school sweetheart and they raised their children at Coast Guard Stations in Maine, Alaska, and Massachusetts. Thank you Chief Chandler for a remarkable career of service to your grateful Nation, RIP.
