Fred graduated from Dodge City High School in 1936 and then attended Dodge City community College. He was a lifetime resident of Dodge City. He and his wife owned and operated Diehl Dairy for over 55 years. He had great pride in his Holstein dairy herd. He was an avid basketball player, coach and fan.
He was a member of the First Christian Church of Dodge City.
Other survivors include his one daughter Rebecca and husband Bud Partridge; four sisters, Lourine Rogers, Wichita, Ks.; Evelyn Council, Pauline Crane and husband Don and Deloris Archer and husband B.B.; three grandchildren and two great-grandsons.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Mary Jane and two brothers-in-laws, Orie Rogers and Tommy Council.
