Mr. Jan Irwin Price,age 58, died Tuesday, April 9, 2013 in Candler County from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Born in Savannah, Jan was a 1972 graduate of Metter High School. He resided on St. Simons Island for several years. Most of Jan's life was spent working as a salesman. He worked with Threlkeld Ford, Rozier Ford and was currently the sales manager for Roberts Trucking in Garden City. An avid outdoorsman, Jan loved to hunt, especially bird hunting. He enjoyed working in his yard and landscaping using all of his "yard gadgets". Jan also loved cooking and entertaining, especially cooking on his grill. Most of all, he will be remembered as a loving husband, father, Papa, son and brother.
Jan was a member of the Roberts Hunting Preserve and Grace Community Church in Statesboro.
He was preceded in death by his father, Carlton Price; a brother, Phillip Darwin Price and his father-in-law, Allen Lamb.
Surviving are his wife of 28 years, Karon Lamb Price of Statesboro; four sons, Justin Price (Tanice), Benji and Daisy Lewis, Jeremy and Ann Price and Jamie and Lindsey Lewis, all of Statesboro; his mother, Minerva Jo Price of Metter; seven grandchildren, Hunter Price, Bailey Price, Aiden Lewis, Jackson Lewis, Ethan Price, Darby Reid Lewis, Kolbe Lewis and expecting an eighth grandchild soon; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Gwen and Charles Jones of Monroe and Jackie Price of Metter; his mother-in-law, Bobbie Lamb of Statesboro and his dog "Abby".
Visitation will be Thursday from 5:00pm until 8:00pm at Joiner Anderson Funeral Home of Statesboro.
Funeral services will be Friday at 2:00pm in the chapel of Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home in Statesboro.
Interment will be in the Hebron Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Garfield.
Pallbearers will be Ricky McDaniel, Brian Glenn, Mitchell Cason, Jody Wilson, Shawn Mikell, Toby Roberts, Wayne Hendrix and Bobby Rushing.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Roberts Hunting Preserve.
