Son of Miles Loftus & Mary Jane (Baumgardner) Bishop.
Jesse was a Private First Class in the US Army, Ser#37143962, serving with "C" Company, 137th Infantry, and died of wounds received while fighting on the battleground in France. He was originally interned in France and his body was shipped to the US and arrived in Nebraska on May 28th, 1948. A formal burial took place on May 30th, 1948 at the Fullerton, NE. Cemetery. Jesse joined the Army in March 1942 and was sent overseas in in April of 1944.
Pallbearers at his funeral were: Alvia & Kenneth Hoy, Pete Horn, Laurence Choyeski, Joe Craig, & Larry "Jim" Davis.
These young men had grown up with Jesse and some had served in the Army with him.
