Helen Crowder, 83, Pleasant Hill, died Monday, Jan. 5, 2004, at the Pittsfield Healthcare Center.
She was born Jan. 27, 1920 near Barry to Loren K. and Mabel Moyers Harshman. She married Delbert R. Crowder Aug. 2, 1937 in Louisiana, Mo. He died in 1952. Mrs. Crowder was a 30-year employee of the former Brown Shoe Company in Pittsfield. She was of the Christian faith and enjoyed quilting, sewing and fishing. She was preceded in death by a son, Charles L. Crowder; two brothers, Stewart and Dale Harshman; and a great-grandson, Brenton Hausmann. Funeral services are Thursday, Jan. 8, at 2:30 p.m. at the Ward-Lummis Funeral Home in Pleasant Hill with the Rev. Leonard Castleman officiating. Burial will be at Crescent Heights Cemetery in Pleasant Hill. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials are to Blessing Hospice or the Pleasant Hill Fire Department.
