Simon W. Lane served in the Civil War. He was born in AL, Dec 25, 1840 and died Jan 30, 1907 in Floyd, NM.

He served as a Cpl, Co A, 26th AL Infantry., He was severely wounded at the battle of Antietam and suffered all his life with lung problems as a result. After the war he became postmaster and a minister in the village of Floyd.

He was a member of the Bedford Forrest Confederate Camp 1606 in Portales, NM
