Bernice was born Nov. 23, 1925, the daughter of the late William and Jenny Waters Youells.
She was married to Richard Darling, Sr. and a graduate from the Kingston High School.
She enjoyed spending time with family and witnessing for the Lord.
In addition to her parents, Bernice was preceded in death by a daughter Joyce Ridall.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son Richard II and his wife Karen of Retta; daughters: Jean and husband Harold Mueller of Elmira, N.Y., Jane Sherman and the late George Matte of Tunkhannock, and Sandra and husband James Bartels of Retta; and son-in-law Ernie Ridall of Laceyville. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at the Retta United Methodist Church, Retta on Thursday, June 21, at noon with Pastor Kevin Compton officiating.
Friends may pay their respects from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at the church.
Interment will be private at the convenience of the family at the Retta United Methodist Cemetery.
The family would like to thank the Commonwealth Home Health and Hospice and Golden Living staff for their care and kindness.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the church of the donor's choosing.
